Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Urban Planner to join our team. The Urban Planner will be responsible for developing plans and programs that address land use, physical infrastructure, and environmental concerns within urban spaces. You will work closely with government officials, developers, and the public to create strategies for the sustainable growth and development of communities.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop long- and short-term plans for land use, zoning, and urban development.
Conduct research and analyze economic, environmental, and social data to assess the viability of urban development projects.
Collaborate with local authorities, developers, and community members to assess urban planning needs.
Prepare and present reports, proposals, and environmental impact statements to stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in planning projects.
Recommend zoning regulations and land use plans that promote sustainable and efficient urban growth.
Facilitate public consultations and hearings on proposed urban development projects.
Monitor and update urban development plans based on current trends and data.

Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or a related field.
Proven experience in urban planning or a related role.
Strong understanding of zoning laws, environmental regulations, and urban design principles.
Proficiency in planning and design software (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD).
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

Masters degree in Urban Planning or related field.
Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or similar credential.
Experience in transportation planning, environmental planning, or community development.
