Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Operations: Oversee the daily functions of the boat yard, including the hauling, launching, and storage of boats. Ensure all activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

  2. Customer Service: Engage with customers to understand their needs, provide accurate estimates, and offer expert advice on boat maintenance, repair, and storage services. Strive to maintain high customer satisfaction.

  3. Staff Management: Lead and train a team of yacht technicians, maintenance technicians, and office support staff. Assign tasks, set performance goals, and monitor staff performance.

  4. Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold quality control processes to ensure all maintenance and repair work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer expectations.

  5. Budget Management: Develop and oversee the boat yard budget, ensuring effective resource allocation, cost control, and profitability. Provide regular financial performance reports.

  6. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the boat yard is well-maintained and clean, creating a safe and organized environment for staff and customers.

  7. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including proper hazardous material disposal and compliance with marina policies.

  8. Parts Ordering: Efficiently source and manage necessary parts to maintain productivity and workflow. Ensure parts are organized for technicians and handle returns promptly.

  9. Emergency/Storm Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies and incidents involving boats, personnel, and the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in boat yard management and staff supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of yacht maintenance and ABYC standards.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards in the maritime industry.
